I had a few days free and wanted to do something very special with my lovely lady, Melissa, so I planned a wonderful overnight camping trip to some secluded islands that are part of the Maddalena Islands off the Costa Smeralda.
We set off from the beautiful though slightly crowded Spiaggia Rena Bianca with much more secluded tranquility in mind!
An hour later and we reach the deserted Isola di Soffi for a quick rest on-route to a stunning beach we know for lunch!
Passing rocks and amazing views as we go!
Playing hide and seek.
Posing!
And making the most of our seclusion at our lunch stop on the totally deserted Isola le Camere.
Upon leaving for our preferred campspot we noticed the wind had got up to force 5 and was rather rough near the island with one metre waves suddenly rearing up and breaking. Melissa's a good paddler though so we carried on to Isola di Mortorio where the most incredibly beautiful beach was waiting for us!
After a short twenty minute crossing in lively sea we reached the shelter of Spiaggia di Mortorio which was touched with only the slightest hint of wind.
We saw our perfect pitch and headed straight for it!
Living the dream!
We had the island almost to ourselves during the night :)
In the morning we push off into the most amazing coloured sea where Milly does some rolling practice before continuing with our journey.
As we paddle on towards Scogli Mortorietto the swell start to increase and make us feel sea beneath us as well as our distance from the mainland. Its a magical place!
Now we just need to head back to the mainland, making sure to stop at a beautiful secluded beach on-route. Well thats the beauty of paddling by sea kayak, reaching the spots other boats can't!
Wow, amazing all the way around. Must have been a fantastic adventure.
